Job Description:

Actively participates in student learning assessment. Instructs various courses in the Criminal Justice curriculum. Positions are usually open evenings, however, day-time slots are sometimes available. Courses could be face-to-face or web courses. Prepare syllabus according to board policy.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
* Working knowledge of Bloom's Taxonomy.
* Working knowledge of the careers in criminal justice.
* Knowledge of Blackboard.

* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Good organizational skills.
* Good interpersonal skills.

* Ability to adhere to student learning outcomes and course goals/objectives.
* Ability to teach online and in the classroom to students with differing learning styles.
* Ability to motivate students in online and classroom learning environments.
* Ability to adopt and incorporate new and innovative teaching elements and technologies into online and classroom courses.
* Ability to manage online and face-to-face classroom environments.
* Ability to advise students with course selection.
* Ability to build and strengthen community relationships in the criminal justice field.

Essential Functions:

* Creates course syllabus.

* Prepares lesson plan and syllabus according to board policy.

* Keep accurate records and report information as necessary.

Minimum Education /

Experience:

* Bachelor's degree

* Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field. Subject Matter Experts are also considered. At least three years practical field experience in law enforcement.
