Position Title:
Crossing Guard Monitor

Part Time for the school year. OAPSE Member :
Contract Days: 177day contract
Hours:
1 hour in AM, 8-9 AM and 1 hour in PM 3-4 Monday - Friday - subject to change, $16.55per hour
FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must meet requirements of the Ohio Department of Education and the district's Board Policy.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather
- Possess BCI and FBI clearances
- Professional tact, diplomacy and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers,students,
- Parents and the community
- Conscientious and assumes responsibility for own work performance.
- Good health, high moral character and good attendance record.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and a sincere desire to aid all students.
- Be able to ensure the safe crossing of children within designated crosswalks
- Demonstrate good judgment when required to stop traffic
- Be able to stand for long periods of time
- Refrain from tobacco use while working the school crossing
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.
- Help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
- Conduct other duties related to the mechanic's duties as assigned by the transportation supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue.
2. Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions.
3. Occasional interaction among unruly children.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
