The role of Lead Electrical Controls Engineer in the Water Technologies team (KWT) is local to Northwest Ohio, with options of reporting to Defiance or Perrysburg, OH. The position requires field visits and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities- Design control systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and client specifications.
- Create schematics and documentation using AutoCAD Electrical, including bills of materials.
- Develop PLC logic and HMI/SCADA applications to monitor and control treatment processes.
- Select instrumentation for process treatment control and analysis.
- Conduct onsite commissioning and testing of new systems, troubleshooting performance and hardware/software issues.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues.
- Assist in developing operation and maintenance manuals with detailed technical instructions.
- Oversee maintenance of KWT corporate asset electrical equipment to ensure long‑term reliability.
- Experience:
Solid experience in designing and implementing electrical and control systems, with emphasis on instrumentation, PLCs, and SCADA applications. - Technical Expertise:
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical; experience with Allen Bradley RSLogix
5000/Studio
5000, Factory Talk View Studio, or equivalent control system software. - Instrumentation Knowledge:
Deep understanding of selecting and configuring instrumentation for process analysis and control. - Problem‑Solving:
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with electrical hardware, software, and process control systems. - Communication:
Ability to document system designs, troubleshoot issues, and communicate technical details clearly to team members and clients. - Education:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, or related field, or equivalent experience. - Software Proficiency:
Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, Allen Bradley RSLogix
5000/Studio
5000, Factory Talk View Studio; experience with AVEVA, Siemens, or Wonderware is an advantage. - Additional
Skills:
Experience with AC variable frequency drives and strong command of Microsoft Office applications. - Hands‑on
Experience:
Focus on practical engineering work, including designing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical control systems.
Anticipated salary range is $92,986 per year to $115,531 per year.
