CNC Machinist

Pro Mach is hiring a Grinder for our Lako division. The role involves setting up and operating CNC and manual grinding machines to produce high‑quality parts in a clean, climate‑controlled work environment.

• Set up and operate CNC and manual grinders, including Chevalier, Kent, Jones & Shipman, and Blohm machines, for surface and cylindrical grinding.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to ensure accurate part production.
• Inspect and measure parts with precision instruments (micrometers, indicators, comparators, etc.) to verify specifications.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and minor troubleshooting to maintain equipment functionality.
• Optimize grinding operations for efficiency, tool life, and part quality.
• Work with tight tolerances, often within ±0.0005”.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and other production staff to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety and quality protocols.
• Document work as required, including job travelers, inspection reports, and production logs.
• Assist in training and mentoring apprentices or junior machinists, as needed.

• High school diploma.
• At least 2 years of grinding experience, preferably in a job shop or precision manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in operating Chevalier, Kent, Jones & Shipman, Blohm, and other flat or cylindrical grinders.
• Strong understanding of grinding speeds, feeds, wheel selection, and coolant usage.
• Familiarity with tool steels, stainless steels, and hardened alloys.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Hourly pay range: $24.00 – $30.00 per hour.
