Molding Material Handler

General Summary

Responsible for maintaining production on a number of plastic injection molding machines (including auxiliary equipment). Duties include, but are not restricted to, material handling, grinder unloading, blending material and relieving operators. May also make labels for cartons.

  - Tuesday 6pm-6am (36 Hours)

$20.35 per hour

• Understands and follows all established safety, health, quality and company policies, procedures and recognized practices.
• Relieves operators during the shift.
• Performs continuous quality inspection of parts produced during relieving an operator.
• Maintains work areas to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards; empties trash cans and trash hopper.
• Delivers and maintains the proper material at the machines using an electric pallet jack; labels material to indicate correct supply.
• Stages material for the incoming shift using a forklift.
• Empties grinders as needed and blends regrind with virgin material to maintain production.
• Makes boxes for production and supplies dividers where needed; makes labels for cartons when required.
• Maintains the shrink wrapper and moves pallets to the shrink wrapper.
• Moves the production pallets to an area where they can be transferred to work in process.
• Monitors the production schedule and changes material accordingly.
• Removes hung up parts in the mold and restarts the press.
• Scans materials as completed and moved.
• Does not make machine control adjustments.
• Packs wave 3D robotic cell parts and palletizes.
• Wraps batteries and regrind material in bead blending.
• Assists the Injection Molding Supervisor in all ways required.

• Operates forklift, electric pallet jack, shrink wrapper, machine loaders and gaylord sweepers.
• Can clean out a jammed grinder.
• Maintains regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
• Works under pressure, meets deadlines, and maintains a positive attitude.
• Works independently and carries out assignments to completion within prescribed routines and standard practices.
• Communicates effectively, conveying facts and information clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Collaborates well with others, proactively contributing to group objectives and volunteering to help others.
• Encourages all molding associates to function as a team and models these behaviors.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1-Year Manufacturing Experience.

• Must be able to lift 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Able to work daily overtime and/or weekends when needed.
