Overview
The Material Handling Supervisor is responsible for leading teams of hourly, bargaining employees in completing material receiving and delivery activities that enable the plant to meet daily production targets. This role directly supports daily production, and the supervisor troubleshoots problems as they arise, allocates resources and manpower to resolve issues without impact to plant throughput performance, and participates in and promotes lean Stellantis Production Way activities.
Responsibilities- Interacts with all levels of the organization including bargaining and non-bargaining hourly and salary employees as well as executive leadership
- Manages manpower, including hourly employee absenteeism, training, and Stellantis Production Way involvement
- Collaborates with Union Leadership to address team member concerns
- Monitors and replenishes production lineside inventory stock levels
- Manages Material Handling Equipment including establishing safe operating procedures and arranging standard maintenance
- Provides daily reporting for area safety, quality, throughput performance, and inventory control management
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
- Public speaking skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or a related field
- 18 months experience in prior manufacturing or supervisory role
- Previous experience working in a union environment
- Ability to demonstrate lean manufacturing knowledge and application
