Basic
Job Functions:
- Assists in the installation and qualification of manufacturing equipment.
- Support engineering test activities (Machine setup, material changes, WIP movement)
- Review process and equipment data on dashboards and determine corrective action as needed
- Troubleshoots day-to-day manufacturing process and equipment issues.
- Logs relevant information in shift and daily pass-down
- Performs, as directed, all necessary maintenance and repair of the equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Identifies and/or implements system improvements that contribute to the achievement of throughput, yield and product performance goals.
- Leads the training/upskilling of production associates and technicians.
Education/
Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Candidates must meet ONE of the following criteria to qualify:
- No post-high school degree:
- Four or more years mechanical, electrical or process technician experience as a primary job function, or two or more years experience as FS EMT I or MET I or MT I
- Journeyman or other trade certification strongly preferred in lieu of post-HS degree.
- Associates (2-year) degree in a technical discipline:
- Two or more years mechanical, electrical or process technician experience or one year experience as FS EMT I or MET I or MT I
- Bachelors (4-year) degree in an engineering/technical discipline:
- One year mechanical, electrical or process technician experience or six months experience as FS EMT I or MET I or MT I
- No post-high school degree:
- Safety first mindset.
- Extensive verifiable electrical/electronic and mechanical knowledge.
- Extensive Verifiable hands-on troubleshooting/repair skills.
- Trained and certified to operate, maintain and troubleshoot multiple manufacturing equipment either in semiconductor (vacuum deposition, slot-die coating, ink-jet printing, laser scribing, thermal ovens glass washing) or finishing (bussing, lamination, framing) process areas.
- External candidates require prior experience in operating, maintaining and troubleshooting similar or equivalent sophisticated electro mechanical equipment (machine tools, large area printers, glass coaters or web coaters etc.)
- Self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision.
- Good written and oral communications skills.
- Able to troubleshoot and solve equipment issues on the manufacturing line.
- Able to troubleshoot and solve process issues on the manufacturing line.
- Able to deal with administrative as well as technical tasks.
- Working knowledge of common Windows computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Able to identify recurring issues and develop/communicate improvement recommendations.
- Solves day-to-day production, equipment, and process problems.
- Performs the on-site service and repair of equipment.
- Identifies and implements yield and product performance improvements.
- Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and as directed;
Work assignment will rotate between different buildings in a workweek - Develops methods to assign causes to yield excursions.
- Sets up and maintains gauges.
- Ensures all processes are running on target as defined by the Process Control Plan.
- Responds to SPC process control alarms, bringing processes back into control.
- Executes planned process experiments, collects and analyzes data and report experimental results.
- Collects data relating to daily tool performance and associated product performance.
- Transitions new equipment and processes through start-up, qualification, and implementation
- Provides training to production associates.
- Develops and update internal documentation including drawings, standard operating procedures, and process specifications.
- Interfaces with internal associates and supplier representatives, as required, to complete assigned projects.
- Develops a complete understanding of area processes, equipment, and support systems.
Maintains effective communication with other members of the manufacturing team.
Disposition non-conforming product according to established criteria (NCP).
Adheres to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.
- Will handle Hazardous chemicals with appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Ensures waste materials are discarded in their designated containers.
- Ensures hazardous waste containers stay closed except when adding or removing waste.
- Ensures satellite accumulation containers stay in their designated locations.
- Other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationships:
- This position will not have direct reports.
Travel:
Travel for initial onboarding training in other FS manufacturing facilities may be required.
Little to no travel required (70 degrees is required.
