Basic

Job Functions:

• Supervises the daily production of Photovoltaic modulesin accordance with required quality standards and in acost-efficient manner.
  
  Train and mentor Supervisor I associates to maximize their supervisory skills.

Education/

Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Candidate must meet one (1) of the three (3) criteria below:
  • One (1) year First Solar supervisory experience.
  • Four (4) years supervisory experience in a manufacturing production setting, warehouse, textile, agricultural or material inspection capacity.
  • Six (6) years supervisory experience + two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing production setting, warehouse, textile, agricultural or material inspection capacity.
• Experience in electrical,mechanical,and chemical industrial applications.
• Experience andworkingknowledge of continuous improvement tools.
• Effective communication and supervisory skills.
• Solid people skills and a positive, outgoing attitude .
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• The ideal candidate should have the ability tothink outside the boxand to develop unique andtimelysolutions.
• Experience with vacuum, laser, chemical, metrology, packaging, or thermal systems a plus.
• Directly supervises the daily production of Photovoltaic modulesin accordance withwork instructions and control plans.
• Performs Safety Walk and Talks,ensure team compliance with safety protocols,and implements best 5S practices.
• Leads shift huddles providing priorities and task assignment and publishes shift reports
• Helps with safe execution of engineering tests.
• Logs Inventory levels and location.
• Monitors and coordinates Work In Process  (WIP) optimization between manufacturing units for each process.
• Maintains product inventory accuracy.
• Lead, manage andparticipatein continuous improvement activities/teams.
• Train and mentor Supervisor, associates.
• Responsible for controlling costs tomaintainbudgetaccuracy.
• Coordinateandmaintainrecords ofon-the-job training and compliance training of manufacturing associates.
  
  Conduct performance appraisals.
• Identify training opportunities to develop andmaintaina highly motivated and capable team.
• Effective use of internal manufacturing software for production tracking.
• Maintainaccuratetime keeping for manufacturing in ERP system.
• Utilize Theory of Constraints (TOC) methodology to maximize throughput.
• Effectively interfaces withotherdepartments.
• Coordinate with Departments and other supervisors on day-to-day issues.
• Support efforts to consistently exceed customer expectations.
• Evaluate and monitor manufacturing processes ensuring cycle time is beingmet.
• Responsible foreliminatingdowntime constraints in assigned area(e.g.: find root cause and resolve the issue, effectivelyutilizesupport teams to improve quality and production).

Reporting Relationships:

• This position reports to the Operations Manager.
• This position will have direct reports.

Travel:

• Up to 10% of global travel is expected.

Estimated Salary Range:

• $62,500-$89,000 Annually.
