Overview
We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to support supplier quality initiatives and material quality performance for a short-term, on-site contract role in Perrysburg, OH. The role involves working closely with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams to drive corrective actions, supplier development, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position is suited for a hands-on quality professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities- Perform failure analysis and inspection techniques on supplier materials
- Support supplier audits, assessments, and source inspections
- Evaluate supplier approval status and identify the need for corrective action plans
- Interface with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve material quality issues
- Initiate and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Support Supplier Quality Development initiatives
- Drive process improvement and continuous improvement activities
- Assess supplier processes and capabilities using Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Mentor suppliers to improve quality performance and meet customer requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
- Strong experience in Quality Engineering and/or Supplier Quality Engineering
- Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance
- Experience with ISO 9001 standards
- Knowledge of PPAP documentation, APQP, Control Plans, and Flow Charts
- Experience in data analysis and supplier management
- Hands-on experience with blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision measurement tools
- Solid understanding of quality control standards and methodologies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail with a results-driven mindset
