QAQC Technician - Perrysburg, Ohio
Join a team delivering some of the nation's most complex industrial construction projects. As a QA/QC Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring construction activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. Working alongside experienced project teams, you'll perform inspections, verify workmanship, and help deliver successful projects for customers across a variety of industrial markets.
The QA/QC Technician is responsible for performing quality control inspections and quality assurance activities throughout all phases of industrial construction projects. This role supports project teams by verifying that materials, fabrication, installation, and workmanship comply with project specifications, customer requirements, applicable codes, and company quality standards. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, craft personnel, subcontractors, and customers, the QA/QC Technician documents inspection results, identifies quality concerns, and helps ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
Key responsibilities
Qualifications/Experience
- Two or more years of experience in industrial construction, fabrication, mechanical, piping, or QA/QC inspection.
- Experience inspecting industrial construction, welding, piping, structural steel, or mechanical installations preferred.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, isometrics, specifications, and technical documents.
- Experience completing quality documentation, inspection reports, and turnover records.
- Experience working in refinery, power generation, manufacturing, chemical, or heavy industrial construction environments preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of industrial construction methods and quality inspection practices.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to identify quality deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic documentation systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
Education and Certifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical school, vocational training, or associate's degree in a related field preferred.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred.
- OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Work Environment
- Primarily field-based work at active industrial construction and fabrication sites.
- Frequent interaction with Project Managers, Superintendents, craft personnel, subcontractors, customers, and third-party inspectors.
- Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather and industrial conditions.
- Travel to project sites may be required based on project assignments.
- Flexibility to support project schedules, outages, shutdowns, and customer requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely navigate active construction and industrial work environments.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, bend, and work in varying industrial environments for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to use computers, tablets, and mobile devices for inspection documentation and reporting.
