Universal Controls Group (UCG) engineers, manufactures, and installs advanced automation control systems for a wide range of industrial machinery. Through its acquisition of Universal Tube & Rollform Equipment Co., UCG has become an all-in-one source for tube, pipe, and rollform machinery, offering both new and used equipment. The combined organization provides in-stock machine inventory, reconditioning services, new control panels, drive systems, electrical start-up and commissioning, and options for buying or selling surplus machinery.

UCG designs expandable tube mill controls and drive systems that can be pre-engineered or custom-built to client specifications, including its U-TRAK closed-loop length control system for accurate and cost-effective flying cut-off applications. Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Sales Executive role based in Perrysburg, OH. The Sales Executive will identify and pursue new business opportunities in industrial automation, tube, pipe, and rollform machinery, while also managing and growing relationships with existing customers. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting leads, conducting on-site and virtual customer meetings, understanding client technical requirements, and recommending appropriate machinery, control systems, and service solutions.

The role involves preparing and delivering proposals and quotations, negotiating terms, and coordinating closely with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure accurate scopes and timely delivery. The Sales Executive will also maintain an active sales pipeline using CRM tools, represent UCG at industry events or trade shows, and provide feedback from the market to support product and service improvements.

Qualifications
  • Proven skills in B2B sales, lead generation, and account management, preferably in industrial machinery, automation, or related technical products.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts related to automation control systems, mechanical equipment, and industrial applications.
  • Strong abilities in relationship building, negotiation, and closing, with a focus on consultative and solution-based selling.
  • Competence in using CRM software, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and other digital tools to manage pipelines, prepare proposals, and track activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented approach with strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple opportunities and deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, trade shows, and industry events as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
