Job Description
Job Overview Seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team, who strives to be the best at not only repairing equipment but working with a team of great people. Would need experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with various tools and technology.
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. All diagnostic equipment will be provided including specialized tooling.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, dozers, farm machinery, ect.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostics computer to identify problems accurately.
- Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for assembly and repair tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed on all equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols while performing heavy lifting and operating machinery.
- Determine overall condition of machines through inspections and provide maintenance.
- Diagnose issues with hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Restore equipment to working order through component replacement and / or repair.
- Exhibit positive and effective communication and interaction with other Midwest equipment associates, vendors, and customers.
- Keep current on record-keeping, parts ordering/inventory, basic contract provisions with respect to product warranties, and customer invoicing.
- Utilize operators and parts & maintenance manuals in determining procedures and identifying parts
- Minimum of 2 years prior experience with repairing and maintaining Heavy Equipment.
- Related experience: servicing cranes, specialty equipment; construction, mining, or farm equipment such as dozers or tractors
