Job Title:
Service Technician
Primary Objective: To provide quality work in the field diagnosing and repairing commercial kitchen equipment to our current and new customers along with producing used equipment to sell in our showroom.
Primary Functions: Diagnosing, repairing and performing preventive maintenance on kitchen equipment in the field at customer locations and in house. Refurbishing used and trade in equipment for purchase.

Service Manager
Scheduled Hours: 40 hours per week / Mon-Fri / 8:00am-4:30pm
FLSA Status: Hourly
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Electronically, mechanically and cosmetically diagnose and repair all commercial refrigeration equipment according to service targets in house and in the field
- Research and request necessary parts according to manufacturer specs or as required by basic mechanical guidelines
- Test all equipment in a timely, efficient manner and communicate any equipment that presents risk to internal or customer facing quality targets
- Complete product diagnosis in the field and repair
- Inform the Service Manager or Coordinator when an item is complete or needs parts for repair.
- Research of factory specs of an item to learn the full function of the product to ensure proper service is completed; also request any necessary troubleshooting assistance
- Complete any ongoing training to maintain OSHA compliance and HVAC-R certification
- Participate in regular service employee meetings to communicate assignments and capture risks
- Contributes to development of processes and work instructions for daily activities
- Comply with all company policies, programs, rules, regulations and safety rules
- Communicates resource constraints to Coordinator when labor or equipment capacity does not align to the schedule
- Commute to customers locations to repair, diagnose, and perform preventative maintenance in accordance with Burkett's and manufacture specs.
- Operate a company vehicle safely and follow all laws and company policies in the vehicle and on customers' property.
- Work with Service Coordinator to order needed and correct parts for repair work.
- Upsell preventive maintenance plans to promote longevity of the customer's kitchen equipment.
- Continuing education and training to learn current and new knowledge in the industry.
- Other duties as assigned related to continuous improvement of service processes
- HVAC-R certification
- EPA certification
- Excellent electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities for refrigeration equipment and cooking equipment.
- Ability to function as part of the team and assist other technicians when necessary
- Self-motivated to achieve annual goals and objectives
- Excellent computer experience working with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word
- 3-5 years experience diagnosing and repairing commercial refrigeration equipment
- HVAC-R certification in Ohio
- 10
- Hour OSHA Training (provided upon hire if needed)
- Tools including flaring tools
- Testing instruments
