Overview
Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician in Perrysburg, Ohio. The role offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career path in diesel technology.
Benefits- Hourly Pay: $33.16 per hour
- Certification bonus: up to $700 for new ASE certifications
- Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times a year)
- Sign‑on bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday; weekends off - Hours:
Second Shift 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. - Medical, dental, and vision benefits begin after 30 days

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or equivalent (preferred)
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Experience with routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes and brake/tire work (required)
- Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred)
- Valid commercial driver license (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within six months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background and motor‑vehicle check
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
- Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment
- Identify root causes of failures and execute required repairs
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Carry out facility maintenance duties
- Communicate with customers and drivers to determine nature of complaints when assigned tasks
- Use shop management system and electronic documentation tools
- Work in accordance with federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT)
- Perform additional support duties as needed, including service island support
