Overview

Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician in Perrysburg, Ohio. The role offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career path in diesel technology.

Benefits
  • Hourly Pay: $33.16 per hour
  • Certification bonus: up to $700 for new ASE certifications

    Monday–Friday; weekends off
  • Hours:

    Second Shift 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or equivalent (preferred)
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Experience with routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes and brake/tire work (required)
  • Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred)
  • Valid commercial driver license (CDL) Class A (preferred)
  • Must be able to obtain a CDL within six months after hire
  • Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background and motor‑vehicle check
Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
  • Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment
  • Identify root causes of failures and execute required repairs
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Carry out facility maintenance duties
  • Communicate with customers and drivers to determine nature of complaints when assigned tasks
  • Use shop management system and electronic documentation tools
  • Work in accordance with federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT)
  • Perform additional support duties as needed, including service island support
