Opening for a High School Assistant Boys Golf Coach for Fall 2026-27 season.

Applicant must have or obtain a current Pupil Activity Permit and CPR.

High School Athletic Director.

Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license
  • State of Ohio Teaching License (preferred, not required).
  • Coaching and administrative abilities.
  • Required to maintain a valid CPR card, BCI and certification from the Ohio Department of Education through the Pupil Activity Validation Program. Proof of both certificates must be on file with the Athletic Director prior to coaching.
  • Ability to relate to, communicate with and inspire young athletes.
  • Knowledge of prevention and care of athletic injuries.
  • Organizational skills/resources to enhance the program.
  • Skill in oral presentations.
  • Ability to get along with other coaches.
  • Desire to invest time during season.
  • Knowledge of the sport with emphasis on fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of training and conditioning techniques.
  • Ability to diagnose player deficiencies and prescribe corrective activities.
  • Ability to make minor repairs on equipment.
  • Professional tact, diplomacy and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and the community.
  • Conscientious and assumes responsibility for own work.
  • Good health, high moral character and good attendance record.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and a sincere desire to aid all students.
General Description

To prepare a sport team for interscholastic competition.

Essential Functions
  • Encourage students to participate in the program.
  • Account for the condition, inventory, distribution and procurement of all equipment.
  • Account for the procurement and distribution of all medical supplies and equipment.
  • Account for assignment of lockers and the condition of the locker room.
  • Schedule, record and assist as needed with physical examinations for all players.
  • Account for the collection of all fees.
  • Instruct and assist players in the prevention and care of injuries.
  • Accountable for all players meeting necessary requirements pertaining to insurance, physical cards, eligibility forms and athletic waivers.
  • Attend rules interpretation meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation of facilities for all games and practice sessions.
  • Schedule, plan and conduct all practice sessions and scrimmages.
  • Accountable for player behavior during practice sessions, meetings, locker room activities, bus trips and other activities under the support of the program.
  • Schedule and conduct meetings to discuss forthcoming opponents.
  • Support the athletic program as a whole.
  • Delegate specific duties, supervise implementation and, at season's end, analyze staff effectiveness and evaluate all assistant coaches.
  • Contribute to public relations by providing information to newspapers, radios and television stations, school newspapers and other school publications.
  • Correspond with college and university personnel to assist high school players in acquiring athletic scholarships.
  • Communicate with classroom teachers to determine the achievement level of each player.
  • Maintain a record of team statistics and requirements for lettering or certificates of award.
  • Participate in Awards Program by distributing awards to the players.
  • Instruct and supervise managers and statisticians in game and practice preparation.
  • Attend and participate in athletic booster club meetings.
  • Evaluate players after each game and at the end of the season through an exit interview.
  • Develop and enforce training rules.
  • Organize filming of games; present and discuss game films from previous contests; review and evaluate all game films.
  • Follow and enforce Perrysburg High School Co-Curricular Code of Conduct.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.
  • Help instill in students the belief in and practice of sportsmanship, ethics and integrity, as it pertains to the Board of Education Adopted Policy 2431B – Sportsmanship Expectations.
  • Conduct other duties related to the coach's duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or Principal.
