Position Summary
The Delivery Driver Lead is responsible for the quality and efficiency of the delivery drivers and their operations. In this high impact role, you will serve as a liaison between long term care facilities and delivery staff. You will train all transport personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate work schedules and delivery routes
- Monitor workflow to analyze patterns and trends
- Review and set standards for staff
- Provide timely and accurate delivery of medication, equipment, products, and/or supplies to long term care facilities or patients’ homes
- Conduct routine staff meetings
- Respect the privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient information and property
- Access only the minimum amount of patient protected health information needed to perform duties
- Coordinate all special deliveries with the operations supervisor on duty
- Maintain vehicles in good and safe condition to comply with DOT, OSHA, state and federal regulations, and Omnicare policies and procedures
- Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA
- Display behavior which exemplifies employee code of conduct guidelines
- Ensure shipments are accurate and deliveries are timely
- Perform physical inventories and sort baskets by facility units, location, and delivery times
- Scan medication pending for delivery and prepare manifests and ancillary paperwork for nursing facilities
- Retrieve medication totes from pharmacists and ensure timely scanning for delivery (including STATs)
- Check bins before departure for missed medications
- Assist pharmacy floor during down times
- Scan manifests into system for confirmation of delivery
- Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations
- Demonstrate ethical conduct and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Other duties as assigned; job duties may vary by location
- Driver’s license in good standing and a clean driving record
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to use routing software (if applicable)
- Ability to drive a standard transmission vehicle
- Verifiable High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to concentrate on tasks without distraction
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues
- Active listening skills and ability to ask questions appropriately
- Ability to use math to solve problems, such as calculating day’s supply of a prescription
- Judgment to identify when something is wrong or likely to go wrong, and choosing the best course of action when faced with a complex situation
- Customer service orientation
Sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. Sit or stand 7 to 10 hours per day. Lift up to 25 pounds. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. Visual acuity to see and read fine print. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal voice sounds.
May need to work extended hours as needed.
Approximately 40 hours per week. Full time.
Pay RangeBase hourly rate ranges from $18.50 to $35.29, depending on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
