Responsible for providing nutrition assessments and care planning for patients and residents primarily in the critical care units. Implements business practices to uphold our hospital mission and values.

• Directs dietary care of patients with nutrition needs, including screening, assessment, and care planning to ensure patient dietary needs and satisfaction levels are met in critical care units.
• Educates medical staff and counsels patients and families on proper nutritional care.
• Manages and promotes food and nutrition programs according to Hackensack Meridian Health standards and policies.
• Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, nutrition care, special diets, and menu requests.
• Stays current with the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policies, certifications, and standards of practice.
• Identifies potential problems, handles moderately complex issues, and reports status to the manager.
• Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Hackensack Meridian Health policies and procedures (e.g., HIPAA/Privacy Act, quality assurance, safety, operations, personnel).
• Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements, and communicates them to other departments.
• Adheres to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information to individuals with limited knowledge of the subject.
• PC skills and applicable applications.

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field.
• 2+ years of related or clinical experience.

• Certification as a Registered Dietitian required by local state regulations.

Starting at $78,395.20 Annually. The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good‑faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act.
