RN Lactation Consultant - Per Diem - Evenings

The RN Lactation Consultant provides lactation management services to expectant and new parents, serving as a nurse leader within the Maternal-Child Services leadership team. This role is ideal for those with a passion for supporting breastfeeding mothers and collaborating with healthcare providers.

• Location: Perth Amboy, NJ
• Facility: Hackensack Meridian Health
• Schedule: Per Diem, Evening

• Provide lactation management services to expectant and new parents.
• Plan, teach, and evaluate classes for breastfeeding mothers.
• Conduct bedside lactation rounds daily.
• Consult with mothers experiencing breastfeeding problems.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers in maternal-child services.
• Participate in communication and decision-making for Lactation Services.
• Plan and conduct in-service education for maternity nursing staff.
• Provide consultative services to new parents by phone as needed.
• Keep track of breastfeeding statistics and conduct quality assurance programs.
• Participate in community activities and health fairs as required.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
• Master's Degree in Nursing preferred

Experience:

• Minimum of three years experience in maternal-child health nursing
• Minimum of three years of experience in lactation consulting services

Licenses &

Certifications:

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License required
• BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification required
• International Board Certified Lactation Consultant preferred within 3 years of entering position
