Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, one of the UK's fastest growing nature conservation organisations, has appointed a Monitoring Officer (Peat).
ResponsibilitiesYou will lead on the exciting new Great North Bugs project, arranging and supporting invertebrate surveys, liaising with varied partners across the Great North Bog, managing project activity, data and supporting with claims and reports. You will be the main contact for YPP’s volunteers, getting people involved with monitoring through Eyes on the Bog and our yearly monitoring activities. You’ll also support the development of the monitoring plans within landscape recovery projects and help develop YPP’s wider monitoring effort.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have some experience of working in the uplands and ecological field monitoring, along with a familiarity with GIS software and data management. You will be a good communicator with the ability to talk to lots of different audiences with enthusiasm and have experience of working with volunteers and other stakeholders such as landowners. You’ll have the ability to design and implement monitoring methods (or be keen to learn) and be flexible and able to respond to changing demands and circumstances.
