WSP’s Mine Advisory  team supports some of Australia’s most innovative mining projects, delivering industry-leading groundwater solutions. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Junior Hydrogeologist to join our Queensland Mine Groundwater team and contribute to a strong pipeline of exciting projects.

As a Junior Hydrogeologist you’ll:
Support groundwater investigations, water management and impact assessments for mine sites both within Australia and abroad

Undertake field work planning including liaising with subcontractors, logistics, scheduling and development of health and safety documentation Carry out field work such as drilling rig supervision, lithological logging, monitoring bore installation, groundwater sampling and aquifer testing across Australian mine sites, this includes remote locations

Contribute to hydrogeological analyses, visualizations, and conceptual site models

Prepare technical documentation, figures, and reports for clients and regulators

Compile, analyse, and interpret field and project data to support technical assessments

Collaborate closely with intermediate and senior hydro geologists to deliver high‑quality technical services

Work both independently and within collaborative project teams under senior guidance

Contribute to project delivery while building strong client relationships

Comply with all relevant SHEQ and safety requirements

What you’ll bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or a related geoscience discipline1+ years’ experience in hydrogeology or related field

Ability to travel away from home office location for up to 14-days at a time, including air travel and overnight stays

Ability to work in remote outdoor locations, that may be subject to adverse weather conditions (i.e., high temperatures) Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment

Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies

Field experience including working with drilling crews, lithological logging, and groundwater data collection (desirable)
Experience using GIS or similar tools to visualise data (desirable)
Competent technical reporting and data interpretation skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Unrestricted driver’s license (required)
