AECOM's environmental practice is dedicated to helping industries, clients and governments meet their environmental responsibilities while protecting the natural environment.
We provide advisory and technical services to ensure compliance, manage impacts, and reduce risks, including obtaining permits and approvals, decommissioning and restoring contaminated sites, and tackling climate change challenges and resilience. We focus on preserving habitats, water quality, stakeholder engagement and cultural resources, promoting a holistic approach to environmental impact management at every project stage.
How you’ll make a difference Undertake targeted and baseline fauna surveys across a variety of bioregions in WADesign fauna survey programs aligned with project requirements and regulatory expectations
Apply your understanding of state and Commonwealth guidelines and current fauna survey standards
Support environmental impact assessments, compliance monitoring and approvals processes across the project lifecycle
Prepare clear, high-quality technical reports and contribute to approvals documentation
Engage with regulators and understand expectations to help guide project delivery
Mentor and support junior team members in the field and in the office
Qualifications

8+ years’ experience as a Zoologist, with a mix of field and consulting experience
Strong experience leading and delivering fauna surveys, including planning and execution
Solid understanding of WA survey requirements and hands-on experience working in Western Australia Consulting background, with the ability to manage client expectations and project deliverables
Comfortable working in the field as well as contributing to reporting and office-based work Confident working independently while also supporting and guiding others
