Job Description “AECOM has given me the opportunities, support and trust to build a career that's aligned with my ambitions and interests.” Lauren Spring, Sector Manager & Growth Lead - Environment, WAAECOM's environmental practice is dedicated to helping industries, clients and governments meet their environmental responsibilities while protecting the natural environment. We provide advisory and technical services to ensure compliance, manage impacts, and reduce risks, including obtaining permits and approvals, decommissioning and restoring contaminated sites, and tackling climate change challenges and resilience.

We focus on preserving habitats, water quality, stakeholder engagement and cultural resources, promoting a holistic approach to environmental impact management at every project stage.

How you’ll make a difference:

Conduct field-based ecology survey work, including baseline surveys, monitoring programmes, and targeted flora and weed assessments across various bioregions.

Lead and manage ecological projects, supporting internal clients with multi-disciplinary tenders and deliverables.

Plan, deliver, and analyse ecology surveys independently or collaboratively, performing impact assessments and designing mitigation strategies.

Assist in managing the technical performance and delivery of ecological projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

Undergraduate degree in environmental science, ecology, botany or similar

Excellent field skills with 5+ years experience conducting and leading botanical surveys in various WA environments, including mining, remote, and Perth Metro areas

Strong technical reporting skills proficiency in GIS desktop and data collection packages (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS and Fieldmaps)
WA driving licence and ability to work outdoors on short and extended field programmes

Working knowledge of Commonwealth and State environmental legislation (EPA technical guides, BC Act)
