THE ROLE Material Sourcing Manager/Senior Manager - Alpaca/VicuñaResponsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive Alpaca/Vicuña procurement strategy that optimizes cost, quality and sustainability across all applicable products.
- Build, maintain and expand a global network of Alpaca/Vicuña suppliers, including tanneries, rawhide processors and specialty producers, to ensure reliable and competitive sourcing.
- Partner with Product Development and Merchandising to build and maintain a central Alpaca/Vicuña materials library with curated assortments for high quality and consistency.
- Analyze and monitor the global Alpaca/Vicuña market to inform procurement strategies and minimize price volatility.
- Establish and maintain long-term partnerships with key suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and driving value across the supply chain.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align material procurement strategies with product requirements and company objectives.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for cost savings, innovation and process efficiencies across the Alpaca/Vicuña value chain.
- Create and implement risk mitigation strategies, including multi-sourcing and compliance with responsible sourcing initiatives.
- Lead supplier performance management efforts to ensure quality assurance and adherence to ethical and environmental standards.
- Provide regular reporting on procurement performance, cost savings and market conditions.
- Establish and enforce Alpaca/Vicuña quality performance standards to ensure consistency across vendors.
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management in the Alpaca/Vicuña industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience building global supplier networks.
- Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategic procurement plans.
- Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of sustainability regulations and responsible sourcing initiatives.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
