Expected pay for this position is $20.41 – $24.01/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Medical Assistant will perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience. May work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical support, assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities at the direction of the physician/provider. Performs the duties in accordance with the specific needs of the practice.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
High school diploma/GED and completion of a medical assistant (MA) program, certification course with applied learning, or equivalent MA training/experience. - Licensure/Certification: CMA‑Certified Medical Assistant current certification by one of the following approved certifying agencies:
American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) – earning CMA credential;
American Medical Technologists (AMT) – earning RMA credential;
National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) – earning NCMA credential;
National Health Care Association (NHA) – earning CCMA credential;
American Heart Association (BLS for Health Care Providers) to be completed within 2 weeks of hire date;
National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP);
American Allied Health (AAH). - Other Skills/Knowledge:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software; strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to be detail oriented; specific knowledge and training related to the performance of administrative skills, technical/clinical skills, and medical procedures commonly performed in a medical practice setting.
Experience:
Previous experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent, previous experience with an electronic health record and phlebotomy.
Other Skills/Knowledge:
Knowledge of medical terminology; knowledge of Epic; exceptional customer service and phone etiquette; ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow; ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections.
