We are looking for self‑motivated and safety‑conscious candidates who would like to join our production team in Peru, IL.

New employees can earn $63,000 in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50‑hour work week. This includes the base rate, overtime, retention and production bonuses.

There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives.

Position is full‑time with benefits.

Machine Operator, 2nd Shift (Monday‑Friday 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.) with possible overtime.

Perform machine shop and roll forming press operations on the production floor.

• Operate overhead cranes and perform daily operator inspections.
• Operate forklift.
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products.
• Maintain work area and equipment in clean orderly condition.
• Work safely and follow company safety policies.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor, including but not limited to cleaning, scrap removal and other tasks.
• Stand for most of shift.
• Walk frequently, use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools and controls.
• Reach, bend, kneel, crouch frequently.
• Use close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and adjust focus as needed.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. The range may vary by location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in Canam Steel Corp (CSC)’s benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, (plus additional voluntary benefits) and 401 K (with employer match).

• Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Ability to obtain valid crane and forklift certifications.

• Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
• Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Frequent moving around to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
• Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Constantly thinking and processing information.
• Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.
