Plant Maintenance Mechanic - James Hardie, Peru, IL
James Hardie, a leader in fiber cement technology, is seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Peru, IL. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our innovative manufacturing processes and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Execute predictive and preventative maintenance programs for critical machinery and equipment
- Repair and maintain bucket elevators, conveyors, compressors, pumps, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems
- Ensure efficient operation of machinery to maintain production quality and output
- Diagnose mechanical issues using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Perform equipment dismantling and parts replacement using hoists, cranes, and specialized tools
- Manage inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies
- Associate degree in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Minimum 5 years of heavy industrial mechanical and millwright experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in root cause analysis and fault‑free analysis techniques

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $29.16-$35.45. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time. This position qualifies for benefits.
