Alinea International is seeking a STeP Fellow to work on the Women Guardians of Biodiversity project in Peru. The fellow will provide technical assistance to strengthen participatory vicuña monitoring and sustainable management of high-Andean ecosystems.
The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) and Alinea International are offering an opportunity for a Science, Technology and Policy Fellow (STeP) in Peru. The fellow will work on the Women Guardians of Biodiversity project, which aims to strengthen women's leadership in the conservation of wetland and peatland ecosystems. The contract will last 12 months and begin in August 2026.
OverviewThe Women Guardians of Biodiversity project aims to strengthen women's leadership in the conservation of wetland and peatland ecosystems in Peru.
- Strengthen participatory vicuña monitoring at the Salinas Ramsar site
- Contribute to the design and development of technical sessions and knowledge-sharing spaces
- Analyze and systematize the technical information generated by the project
- Strengthen inter-institutional coordination with the host organization, universities, protected areas, public institutions, and community stakeholders
- Contribute to developing technical inputs and recommendations aimed at strengthening decision-making
The position is open to Peruvian citizens with experience in participatory vicuña monitoring and high-Andean ecosystem conservation.
