Minimum Qualifications:
* Valid Indiana Secondary Mild or Intense Intervention Teaching License.
* Must pass the required Expanded Criminal History Check and Expanded CPS Check.
* Demonstrated responsibility, initiative, productivity, and collaboration.
* Strong communication skills
Nature and Scope of Position:
* Planning and delivery of special education instruction and services.
* Compliance with legal and procedural safeguards.
* Maintenance of records
* Collaboration and communication with parent/guardians, and school staff
* Supporting students with behavioral and emotional needs
Duties & Responsibilities:
Instructional Planning and Delivery
* Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with case conference committees.
* Adapt general education curriculum and modify materials to meet students' individual needs.
* Provide direct instruction in resource, co-teaching, or self-contained settings, depending on student needs and placement.
* Use evidence-based instructional strategies to support students in accessing grade-level content.
Compliance Documentation
* Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress, IEP implementation, and service logs.
* Conduct formal and informal assessments to monitor progress and guide instruction.
* Facilitate and participate in IEP meetings and annual case reviews in compliance with federal and state laws.
* Ensure compliance with legal and procedural safeguards related to special education.
Collaboration and Communication
* Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and other service providers to support inclusive practices.
* Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress, goals, and concerns.
* Provide training, resources, and consultation to staff to support students with disabilities across school environments.
Behavior and Social-Emotional Support
* Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and manage classroom behavior using proactive and restorative strategies.
* Support students in developing self-regulation, social skills, and coping strategies.
* Work closely with school psychologists, counselors, and administrators to address behavioral and emotional needs.
Professionalism and School Engagement
* Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics in all matters related to student welfare.
* Participate in professional development related to special education practices, laws, and instructional strategies.
* Contribute to the overall school community by participating in team meetings, initiatives, and school events.
