Substitute School Nurse

The Petal School District is seeking qualified and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to serve as Substitute School Nurses on an as-needed basis. This position provides health services to students and staff to support a safe, healthy, and productive learning environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care to students and staff for illness or injury in accordance with district health policies and procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and manage students with chronic health conditions and individualized health plans.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records.
• Communicate with parents, staff, and healthcare providers as needed.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with state health regulations and district policies.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a current Mississippi Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in pediatric, school, or community health settings preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
