Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting
A well-established organization is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to support key accounting operations and lead a small team. This position combines technical accounting responsibilities with staff supervision and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, management experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Reporting to leadership, this role will contribute to the month-end close process, financial reporting, accounts payable oversight, compliance activities, and ongoing process improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and support a small accounting team, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Oversee select accounting functions, including vendor payments and general ledger activities.
- Prepare and review financial reports and analyses for management.
- Support audit and tax-related processes by gathering documentation and coordinating with external partners.
- Monitor key accounting metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Partner with internal departments to support operational and financial objectives.
- Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
- Prior experience leading or mentoring team members preferred.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
