Avionics Technician II
The Avionics Technician II position is critical in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our avionics systems. This role involves advanced troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of aircraft systems, including navigation, communication, and flight control systems. The successful applicant will employ diagnostic equipment, interpret complex technical manuals and schematics, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Responsibilities- Monitor and service aircraft systems.
- Diagnose problems and troubleshoot equipment.
- Run tests and complete reports.
- Update and improve existing systems.
- Repair or replace faulty equipment.
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
- Plan and schedule repairs.
- Use work orders to determine the type and quantity of wire harness and assemblies to manufacture.
- Follow assembly drawings and work instructions to manufacture wire harnesses.
- Apply basic skills for soldering, stripping, crimping, heat shrink, and cable shield management (foil and braid).
- Assemble circular connectors based on SOPs.
- Assemble major functional sub‑assemblies for UAVs that incorporate manufactured harnesses.
- Collaborate with management and engineering on new assemblies.
- Co‑operate with production assistants and stockroom personnel to acquire kits for new work orders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent wire soldering, stripping, crimping, heat‑shrink, and cable shield skills.
- Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and written work instructions.
- Experience with wire harness assembly using schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with dedicated contact crimping tools for attaching connector contacts.
- Experience assembling circular connectors.
- Strong work ethic and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
- Certifications:
IPC‑610, J‑STD‑001, IPC/WHMA‑A‑620. - Previous experience in a wire harness manufacturing role for a UAV company.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, time‑management, and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Ability to sit, stand, stoop, reach, and lift up to 10lbs., bend, and perform tasks requiring hand and wrist dexterity. May involve travel to sites or special functions.

Salary range: $23000 – $35000 per year.
