We’ve reached an inflection point where our world class sales team is looking to capitalize on this momentum and hit ambitious yearly targets. ROLE DESCRIPTION

A Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a salesperson-in-training. For 12-18 months, you’ll help Account Executives (AE) generate leads and educate prospects about Ascent Cloud’s products. Your primary focus will be to hit or exceed quota expectations, by qualifying opportunities and scheduling meetings for the AE team. The skills you learn as an SDR will lay the foundation for a successful career in software sales.

During your bootcamp, you’ll have a clear target to hit to be eligible for promotions. We move quickly – your performance is a sign that you’re growing and ready for more responsibility. After 12-18 months, there is a path for career growth within Ascent Cloud for the right candidate that is willing to learn and work toward that goal. You’ll have an opportunity to become an AE at that point, and take a generous commission for the deals you close, which means that if you work hard, you can out-earn many of your peers.

This position is ideal for a driven, curious, and competitive individual with a passion for software sales, who takes immediate action on feedback and can keep up with rapid change in a fast-paced environment. The SDR role is an inside sales position working out of our offices 4 days per week.

Onboarding & Milestones

In 30 Days, you will be able to:

  • Complete onboarding in your first week.
  • Tell the Ascent Cloud story & describe the why behind our solutions.
  • Identify best fit companies and what the core teams we sell to care about.
  • Identify, nurture, and qualify inbound leads.
  • Master your call opener.
  • Proficiency with cold emails and Linked In messages.
  • Setup in core tools with a general understanding of how to use them (Salesforce, Salesloft, Zoominfo, Linked In, etc.).
  • Operate on a daily schedule, with workflows that maximize productivity.
  • Under 5 minute response times in website chat.
  • Continuous application of learning through self-study, manager feedback, and company provided materials.
  • Meet activity and performance requirements.
  • In 60 Days, you will be able to:

  • Meet or surpass your peers’ calling and email activity levels.
  • Personalize emails at scale, balancing quality and quantity.
  • Navigate our most common objections via phone and email.
  • Use the basics for video messaging to improve email reply rates.
  • Tell 3 unique customer stories from memory.
  • Full mastery of website chat (response times and accuracy).
  • Process mastery and technology stack proficiency.
  • Ensure Salesforce is up to date and accurate with notes at the end of each day.
  • Continuous application of learning through self-study, manager feedback, and company provided materials.
  • Meet activity and performance requirements.
  • In 90 Days, you will be able to:

  • Master your message: title, company, and use case nuances, plus personalization.
  • Execute stellar cold emails, calls and Linked In messages.
  • Create value for and have in-depth business conversations with prospects.
  • Have a process for ensuring 80% or more of your booked meetings show up and meet minimum qualifications.
  • Multithreading to various contacts and personas.
  • Continuous application of learning through self-study, manager feedback, and company materials.
  • Meet activity and performance requirements.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    • 1-2 years relevant work experience is a plus, but not required.
    • Passionate about a career in software sales.
    • Sense of urgency in hitting targets, and getting the feedback you need to improve.
    • High degree of resilience; comfortable with rejection.
    • Entrepreneurially-minded, self-starter. You own your book of business and hold yourself accountable to effort and results.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and follow-through.
    • Excitement and interest in the Salesforce platform and App Exchange
    • Experience with the Salesforce platform is preferred, but not required.
    • Experience with Sales Loft or other sales technology is a plus.
