Insurance Agency | Remote (California)
We are seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Employee Benefits Consultant to join our growing benefits team. This role is ideal for a sales-oriented professional who enjoys building long-term client relationships and advising employers on comprehensive employee benefit solutions. The position focuses on new business development while providing ongoing support to small, mid-size, and large group benefit clients.
Position OverviewThe Employee Benefits Consultant is responsible for prospecting, selling, and servicing employee benefit programs. This role requires a high level of professionalism, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience.
Key Responsibilities- Develop new business through networking, referrals, cold calling, and community involvement
- Build, manage, and maintain long-term relationships with small, mid-size, and large group benefits clients
- Prepare, present, and clearly explain customized benefit proposals and carrier quotes
- Submit employer group applications and all required supporting documentation to carriers
- Resolve client and member inquiries efficiently via phone and email
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Agency Bloc or a similar CRM system
- Participate in BNI groups, carrier meetings, and industry networking events
- Conduct ongoing market research to refine sales strategies and remain competitive
- Track sales activity, manage pipeline updates, and report on production results
- Ensure all sales and service activities meet regulatory, ethical, and compliance standards
- Strong consultative sales approach with excellent customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with consistent follow-through
- Professional, outgoing, and relationship-focused communication style
- Self-motivated, accountable, and results-driven
- High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism
- Minimum of 3 years of insurance sales or employee benefits experience
- Active Life & Health Insurance License (required)
- Solid knowledge of employee benefit products, programs, and regulations
- Experience with Agency Bloc or similar CRM platforms preferred
