Account Manager – Standards Business
The Account Manager will build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and grow the territory revenue of the Standards business, focusing on Reference Materials and Analytical Standards product lines.
Key Responsibilities- Own all assigned commercial accounts and strategic site-level locations, representing the entire LGC Standards portfolio across all end-markets (Pharma, Biotech, Environmental, etc.).
- Identify and close new opportunities from prospecting and marketing qualified leads.
- Collaborate with LGC Standard team members (sales managers, quoting specialists, etc.) as needed to provide the best service and customer experience.
- Coordinate with strategic account managers for site-specific planning and customer reviews.
- Use LGC's sales tools to manage prospects, existing accounts, opportunities, pipeline and forecasts.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of key LGC products and their applications.
- Meet and exceed assigned sales targets.
- Actively engage with customers via email, phone, and in-person visits to qualify leads, convert prospects, follow up on quotations and drive new sales.
- Increase brand awareness by organizing and attending exhibitions, seminars, and events.
- B.S. in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, biology, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience selling technical products used in research laboratories; key account management of central procurement is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret RFQs, contracts, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Experience with customer relationship management platforms such as Sales Force and Desk.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent commercial awareness and planning ability.
- Track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- English fluency; additional languages are a significant advantage.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% within CA, OR, and NV territories.
- Sales & Engagement – uncovering needs, demand generation, persuasion, negotiation, account management.
- Product Knowledge – value propositions, solution development.
- Market Knowledge – competitive landscape, positioning, industry trends.
Account Management – relationship management, cross‑ and up‑selling, customer retention, opportunity creation and conversion.
Applicants must reside in CA, OR, or NV.
CompensationMinimum: USD $95,000 per year
Maximum: USD $107,000 per year
Actual base salary will depend on experience, skills, and location within the sales geography.
