The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on production equipment, facility systems, and support equipment. This role supports efficient operations by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facility-related systems while ensuring a safe work environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on production and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance activities according to maintenance schedules.
- Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
- Review maintenance requests, identify root causes of issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Utilize technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and machining tasks as needed.
- Assist with equipment installations, relocations, and facility improvement projects.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Follow all company safety policies and comply with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
- Basic math skills and the ability to use measuring and testing equipment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and varying schedules as business needs require.
- 2-3 years of industrial, manufacturing, food production, beverage production, or related maintenance experience preferred.
- Technical training, certifications, or equivalent hands-on experience in maintenance or mechanical repair is a plus.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting is preferred but not required.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification preferred.
- Valid California Driver's License preferred.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and working in confined spaces.
- Ability to work overhead and use hand and power tools safely.
- Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
