About the job

In this role, you will:

  • provide administrative, clerical, data, and financial support for provincial and regional wood measurement programs.
  • lead and oversee scaling data management processes, ensuring data integrity, accurate reporting, issue resolution, and effective maintenance of provincial scaler registration records.
  • provide service to clients at a regional level by resolving invoicing issues, monitoring expenditures, supporting budget management, and delivering financial reporting.
  • provide training, guidance, and support to internal and external stakeholders on business systems and applications.
  • participate in the scaling audit program.
What you bring to the team Specialized knowledge and skills
  • You have knowledge of, or experience working within, the forest industry
  • You have the ability to prepare and maintain scale data tables, using business systems and applications.
  • You can use scaling conversion data tables to determine/calculate volume and value for forest license invoicing.
  • You can oversee records and scale tally input, make corrections and monitor data to ensure compliance with policies and report variances.
Administrative and financial skills
  • knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and expenditure tracking.
  • experience with general human resource and administrative practices (i.e., hiring documentation, calendar management, etc.).
  • experience handling confidential client information and proprietary business processes.
Communication and interpersonal skills
  • interpersonal skills to develop/maintain working relationships with internal/external clients and work harmoniously with regional team members.
  • effective communication skills to give instructions, explain procedures and answer inquiries.
  • written communication skills to prepare correspondence, present analysis of reconciliation and explain corrective actions.
  • presentation skills to prepare training materials, and present subject material to target audience.
Analytical, evaluative and organizational skills
  • advise on billing procedures, payment terms, and provide financial updates.
  • review/examine and input information into computerized forest management databases.
  • analyze and assess administrative requirements and determine priorities among conflicting demands.
  • work with minimum supervision and work within priorities set by the supervisor.
Computer and office equipment skills
  • use computers and software applications, including word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases, to collect, manage, retrieve, and archive information.
  • operate office equipment and virtual communication platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams) to support business operations and collaboration.
