Branch Manager

Responsibilities

• Guide, direct and coach employees to deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and bank policy requirements.
• Understand customer needs and provide sales and service advice that aligns with the customer's best interests, making referrals to other business groups when appropriate.
• Support sales and customer‑service activities to achieve strategic customer‑experience and profitability goals.
• Foster a culture aligned with BMO’s purpose, values and strategy, modeling these values in all interactions.
• Build inter‑dependent teams, attract, retain, and develop top talent, and improve team performance through coaching and recognition.
• Develop and execute a branch business plan that maximizes business growth, wallet share, customer retention and acquisition, collaborating with BMO partners and minimizing operating losses.
• Conduct cold calls and community networking to generate new customer relationships and build a strong referral source.
• Resolve customer‑related issues using knowledge of bank services, products and processes, recommending and implementing appropriate solutions.
• Assist in strategic planning, build business plans, influence negotiations, identify emerging trends, and review and revise work plans.
• Analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations, monitor performance against plan, and develop action plans to close performance gaps.
• Lead the implementation of new programs, products and processes, coordinate national and regional initiatives, and monitor service‑request processes for adherence to standards.
• Provide technical training and support, control unit operating expenses, and manage transaction outcomes while maintaining confidentiality and reporting suspicious activity.
• Apply risk‑management frameworks to make sound, risk‑informed decisions that protect assets and align with business strategy.

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in retail banking, plus a post‑secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous supervisory or management experience.
• In‑depth knowledge of retail banking products, services, competitive marketplace, branch operations, technology, performance metrics and applicable regulations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Salary: $65,600.00 – $ per year (Salaried). The range reflects factors such as location, skills, experience, education and qualifications. Commission opportunities may be included for qualifying roles.
