Animal Care Manager Humane Society

Lead the compassionate care of animals at Peterborough Humane Society as the Manager of Animal Care. Oversee staff and operations to enhance animal wellbeing in this full-time position.

This role offers an opportunity to manage daily operations at a nonprofit shelter. You will lead the animal care team, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while fostering a supportive work environment. With at least five years in a leadership position, you will utilize your expertise in animal health to improve practices while developing strong relationships with staff and community partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directly manage animal care staff and their training

• Develop and evaluate shelter programs and initiatives

• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies

• Advocate for the society’s Mission, Vision, and Values

• Prepare regular operations reports for senior management

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role

• Strong knowledge of animal welfare practices

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Proficient with digital platforms and Office suite

• Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle
