The Opportunity:
We are currently hiring a full-time, permanent Kitchen Design Consultant. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and making clients’ kitchen design dreams a reality. This role combines design expertise, sales, and customer service to ensure clients receive high-quality solutions that meet their needs, budget, and timeline. The Kitchen Design Consultant works closely with clients, suppliers, and installation teams to ensure projects are executed efficiently and to a high standard.
This position has a base salary plus commission, so an individual who is sales driven and willing to go above and beyond will thrive in this role.
Responsibilities- Meet with prospective clients in the showroom or at their homes to conduct design consultations, assess project needs, and present product options, materials, and samples. Obtain accurate measurements and spatial details for design.
- Assist clients in selecting and comparing products required to complete their renovation projects.
- Develop kitchen and bathroom designs using design software such as 20/20 Design.
- Prepare project quotations, present designs for client review, and facilitate project sales including preparation of contracts.
- Record client requests and follow up regarding product availability or special orders.
- Coordinate project timelines, schedule site visits, and monitor project progress through completion.
- Minimum 5 years of proven design experience in the kitchen renovation industry. Diploma or certification in Interior Design or a related field considered an asset.
- Proficiency with design and computer software, including programs such as Sketch Up, 20/20 Design, or similar tools.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Solid understanding of interior design principles, materials, finishes, and current industry trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and team members.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Valid G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for client meetings and site visits.
- Reliable transportation is essential as Chemong Home Hardware Building Centre is not on a bus route.
- Base salary ($45,000) plus commission
- Full-time hours: 42.5 hours/week
- Monday to Friday, daytime or afternoon/evening shifts
- Saturday and Sunday, daytime shifts on a rotating weekend schedule
