Position Summary:

CSN Collision is looking for an Auto Body Technician to join our team. The Auto Body Technician must be able to take a vehicle in a damaged state and repair or restore it to its original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The incumbent should be detail-oriented and capable of multitasking to accommodate shifting priorities.

Primary Objectives of the Auto Body (Collision Repair) Technician:

  • Review damage reports and estimates of repair costs, and plan work accordingly.
  • Thoroughly examine collision damage, including the vehicle's exterior body parts, power accessories, and warning lights, identifying any overlooked prior damages.
  • Perform structural and complete body repairs: Repair and replace front end components, body parts, doors, frames, and underbody components. Assess, repair, or replace interior and exterior parts, electrical components, and vehicle accessories.
  • Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling equipment, hammer out dents and defects.
  • Weld on vehicles using MIG and spot welders.
  • Fully dismantle damaged vehicle areas to identify all hidden damages early in the repair process.
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces, and prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Mask and tape surfaces, apply primers, and repaint as needed.
  • Fill holes, dents, and seams using soldering or plastic filler.
  • Restore vehicle to factory/OEM specifications.
  • Inspect repaired vehicles and conduct test drives for proper handling.
  • Read and understand repair estimates and procedures.
  • Work with various metals, plastics, glass, electrical, and mechanical parts.
  • Use frame and measuring equipment; disassemble and reassemble vehicles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of auto body repair and refinishing experience.
  • Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer (310B) Red Seal License preferred but not required.
  • Certifications such as I-Car and OEM are advantageous.
  • Experience with welding, disassembly, and reassembly.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, stand, walk, reach, and carry tools.
  • Valid driver's license and own tools and safety footwear.
  • Up-to-date compliance training (AODA, WHMIS, Workplace Safety, etc.) and knowledge of PIPEDA.
  • Knowledge of Mitchell / Audatex (3-5 years preferred).
