Role OverviewAs a valued member of the Le Boat team, you will play a pivotal role in preparing our boat yard for the upcoming season. This includes receiving boats, winter preparations, spring commissioning, fall hauling, and stocking the marine shop.
Responsibilities- Maintain our fleet to the highest standards for customer satisfaction and reliability.
- Ensure boats are in impeccable condition for presentation.
- Follow manufacturer maintenance schedules.
- Gain hands‑on experience installing electrical and mechanical equipment, including small fiberglass repairs (training provided).
- Collaborate closely with the Head Tech & Base Manager to efficiently prioritize tasks.
- Be ready to travel to off‑site locations for emergency repairs.
- Participate in hauling/launching, commissioning, de‑commissioning, and gas dock operations as required.
- Take charge of mechanical maintenance/repairs on 36‑ and 45‑ft fiberglass boats, handling technical interventions on pumps, batteries, diesel engines, electrical, propane, and hydraulic connections.
- Technical studies or hands‑on experience related to diesel engines, hydraulic systems, water pumps, HVAC repair, or general maintenance.
- Strong desire to learn and enhance technical skills.
- Ability to interpret specifications and installation instructions.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work on‑site in Peterborough and occasionally attend other bases (Smiths Falls, Ottawa).
- Fluency in English.
- Full eligibility to work in Canada.
- Previous experience in boat maintenance is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of marine diesels and proficient systems is a plus.
- Passion for boating and prior experience are welcomed.
