Position Summary
Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of project vehicles and equipment by executing expertise in repairing all types of vehicles and equipment through inspection and servicing of all vehicles, holding performance testing and replacing or repairing defective vehicle components, diagnosis of operational issues, and complying with provincial requirements. We offer competitive pay ($38–$45 per hour) and other benefits.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Thoroughly inspect vehicles and equipment, detect malfunctions or damages, and perform repairs or replacements using proper tools and equipment.
- Place orders for necessary spare parts and ensure timely procurement.
- Diagnose problems and vehicle operation issues and recommend changes of parts or services as needed.
- Maintain accurate daily maintenance records and reports, and prepare cost estimates for repairs and service requests.
- Ensure all company vehicles and equipment are safe, pass inspections, and comply with provincial standards and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with customers/employees.
- Strong ability to detect malfunctions and understand repair tools, equipment, and testing machinery.
- Good understanding of current principles, techniques, and practices used in repairing and maintaining vehicles, electronic/electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and proficiency in using technical service manuals.
- Knowledge of snow removal equipment, sander controllers, loaders, graders, backhoes is an asset.
- Heavy lifting and working outside.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience.
- 310T Certification required.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Outdoor environment.
- Indoor shop environment.
