Position: Senior Systems Engineer - Full Time

Position Summary: As a Senior Systems Engineer at Monadnock Community Hospital, you will be a crucial player in designing, implementing, and maintaining our core infrastructure and systems. This role requires extensive experience in VMware, Power Shell scripting, Citrix, Net Scalers ADC, SQL, VEEAM backup solutions, Office 365 administration, Next‑Generation Firewall technologies, routing and switching, and cloud technologies. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and upgrading existing systems, researching and engineering highly available and secure infrastructure components, providing solutions to migrate legacy systems to the cloud, generating timely and accurate reports and presentations, and performing other duties as required for this position.

This role also involves after‑hours support and participating in an on‑call rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement system solutions, focusing on VMware virtualization and leveraging Power Shell for automation.
  • Manage VEEAM backup solutions for robust data protection and recovery.
  • Expertly overseeing the Citrix infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and efficiency, while skillfully managing Net Scalers ADC for reliable and scalable application delivery.
  • Administer Office 365, ensuring efficient operation and user support.
  • Configure and maintain Next‑Generation Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco Firepower).
  • Utilize SQL for database management and optimization.
  • Research, design, and engineer high‑performing, standards‑based, highly available and secure infrastructure components.
  • Provide solutions for migrating legacy systems into cloud environments.
  • Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
  • Estimate efforts required for design and implementation tasks in project planning.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance within the systems engineering team.
  • Participate within Cybersecurity team.
  • Ensure system and network security compliance with industry standards.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Participate in after‑hours support and on‑call rotations.
  • Perform other duties as required for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or other relevant combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering or a related role.
  • Strong experience with VMware environments.
  • Strong experience with Citrix infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Power Shell scripting and SQL.
  • In‑depth knowledge of VEEAM backup solutions.
  • Extensive experience in Office 365 administration.
  • Experience with Next‑Generation Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco Firepower).
  • Solid understanding of routing and switching technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and migration strategies.
  • Ability to assist in project planning and estimate design efforts.
  • Willingness to provide after‑hours support and participate in on‑call rotations.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., VCP, MCSE, CCNP) are a plus.

Education

Bachelors or better.

Experience

Bachelor degree and three years of System Engineering experience or five years of System Engineering and IT Technical Project Coordination experience required.

On‑call availability for up to 7 days per month.
