As a Medical Technologist Lead
,we are inviting you to join our robust Laboratory Team in a 25 bed critical access hospital, featuring state of the art equipment. Under limited or no supervision, performs laboratory tests for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Performs other related duties following established standards and practices. In addition to essential functions, the Lead Technologist supervises general technical procedures and policies of the laboratory in the department assigned.

This Lead position has oversight of moderate, high complex Blood Bank testing, as well as waived Point of Care. Candidate must be MLS(MT) at have at least 1-year direct experience in Blood Bank.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervises technical operations in assigned departments within the laboratory.
• Oversees quality control programs.
• Troubleshoots testing procedure problems.
• Implements new test procedures.
• Maintains procedure manuals.
• Maintains accreditation standards (CAP/CMS/CLIA)
• Assists with employee schedule, serves as tech-in-charge as assigned.
• Observes and corrects behavior of employees in the moment.
• Promotes teamwork.
• Assists with quality improvement projects.
• Assists with competency program.
• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-services and workshops.
• Assists to maintain laboratory information systems.
• Maintains supply inventory.
