Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Peterborough, PE1
Up to £18 per hour + £70.50 per sleep-in
40 hours per week

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join a children’s residential home in Peterborough.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated childcare professional who is ready to take the next step in their career and support the Registered Manager in delivering outstanding care and positive outcomes for children and young people.

As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the home, leading the staff team, maintaining high standards of care, and ensuring the needs of children and young people are consistently met.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will:

* Support the Registered Manager with the overall management of the home

* Lead and support the residential care team to deliver high-quality care

* Ensure safeguarding practices are followed and maintained

* Support with care planning, risk assessments, and records

* Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people

* Assist with staff supervision, training, and development

* Promote a safe, stable, and nurturing environment

* Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and company policies

* Take responsibility for leading shifts and supporting the team on a daily basis

About You

The successful candidate will:

* Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)

* Have previous experience working within a children’s residential setting

* Have experience supporting children and young people with complex needs

* Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and childcare legislation

* Be confident leading and supporting a team

* Have excellent communication and organisational skills

* Hold a full UK driving licence (strongly desirable)

Working Pattern

* 40 hours per week

* Variable shift pattern across 7 days of the week

* Sleep-ins required (£70.50 per sleep-in)

* Please note:

a fixed shift pattern is not available
