Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Team Leader to join a children’s residential home in Northampton.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated childcare professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in supporting the team to deliver high-quality care and positive outcomes for children and young people.
As Team Leader, you will provide guidance and support to the residential care team, helping to ensure the home delivers a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where children and young people can thrive.
The Role
As Team Leader, you will:
* Support the management team with the day-to-day running of the home
* Lead and support the residential care team to provide excellent standards of care
* Act as a positive role model for staff and young people
* Ensure safeguarding practices are followed and maintained
* Support with care plans, risk assessments, and daily records
* Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
* Assist with the training, mentoring, and development of staff
* Promote a safe, supportive, and nurturing home environment
* Support with maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations and company policies
* Take responsibility for leading shifts and ensuring effective teamwork
About You
The successful candidate will:
* Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)
* Have previous experience working within a children’s residential setting
* Have experience supporting children and young people with complex needs
* Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and childcare legislation
* Be confident supporting and leading a team
* Have excellent communication and organisational skills
* Hold a full UK driving licence (strongly desirable)
Working Pattern
* 40 hours per week
* Variable shift pattern across 7 days of the week
* Sleep-ins required (£70.50 per sleep-in)
* Please note:
a fixed shift pattern is not available
