This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week. - Inspecting and testing wastes prior to accepting and on receipt to confirm suitability for acceptance - Undertaking laboratory-based waste trials using instrumental and wet chemistry methods - Carrying out waste analyses using a range of techniques - Identifying appropriate safety and processing methods for handling waste - Maintaining quality control processes to ensure accurate waste assessments - Completing and verifying waste consignment documentation - Maintaining accurate laboratory and waste records - Supporting training and mentoring of new starters where required What are we looking for?
- Degree in Chemistry (or similar) or a minimum of an HND in Chemistry or a related subject
- Experience of waste, wastewater or water analysis using spectrophotometric methods - Knowledge of hazardous waste classification and consignment systems (desirable) - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team - Strong communication skills and confidence in liaising with stakeholders - Flexible approach to work, including overtime when required - Good problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative About Us We are FCC Environment, one of the UKs leading waste and resource management companies.
