Streetworks Technician

The Role The role of the Streetworks Technician will be to paint, maintain and install Royal Mail Street Furniture; including post boxes, trucks and trolleys and sorting fittings. You will be working independently or as a member of a team, undertaking work of a technical nature. This position will cover several areas within a specified Postcode region.

• Working under guidance of the Streetworks Supervisor as a part of a team providing assistance to skilled staff in the maintenance and repair of street furniture
• Corrective and preventative maintenance of pillar boxes and wheeled equipment.
• General maintenance on street furniture, trucks and trolleys
• Completion of a painting programme to deliver KPI's on post boxes
• Working independently (or as a part of a team), planning and performing work following schedules, diagrams or drawings
• Working in a structured and tidy manner, observing all relevant health and safety legislation and RMPFS operating procedures and standards
• Liaise with customers and public in a professional fashion in order to project a positive company image.

You will use basic hand tools and power tools and have previous experience of working in a similar role would be desirable

• Basic mechanical skills
• Ideally hold a Streetworks licence, this is desirable and not essential
• Basic PC literacy
• Methodical in approach to work
• Strong awareness of Health and Safety

A Full UK manual driving licence will be required for this role with flexibility to travel around specific postcode regions.
