Accounting Clerk

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support accounting operations in Petersburg, Virginia. This Long-term Contract role offers a flexible 20-hour workweek and is ideal for someone who can bring organization and accuracy to a high volume of outstanding financial reconciliations. The position will contribute to day-to-day accounting support while helping maintain timely and reliable financial records.

Responsibilities:

- Review and complete a large backlog of account reconciliations related to foundation financial activity.

- Process invoices accurately and ensure supporting documentation is recorded and organized properly.

- Enter financial data into accounting records with a strong focus on precision and completeness.

- Assist with both accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks to support ongoing transaction processing.

- Maintain accounting files, spreadsheets, and reports using Microsoft Office applications.

- Work within Quick Books to update records, verify entries, and support routine accounting functions.

- Identify discrepancies in financial information and follow up to resolve outstanding items promptly.

Requirements - Experience supporting accounting operations in an accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting capacity.

- Proficiency with Quick Books and Microsoft Office, especially Excel for tracking and reconciliation work.

- Strong data entry skills with consistent attention to detail and accuracy.

- Background in invoice processing and financial record maintenance.

- Ability to manage a high volume of reconciliation work independently and efficiently.

- Strong organizational and time management skills in a flexible part-time work environment.
