Collections Specialist

We are looking for a Collections Specialist to support receivables recovery efforts for a contract assignment based in Petersburg, Virginia. This Contract position is ideal for someone who can balance strong customer communication with disciplined follow-through to resolve outstanding balances efficiently. The role focuses on managing collection activity, reviewing account status, and helping maintain healthy cash flow through consistent billing and collection practices.

Responsibilities:
• Contact customers regarding overdue balances and guide them through payment resolution options in a clear and attentive manner.
• Review account records, payment history, and aging details to determine appropriate collection actions.
• Follow established collection procedures to reduce delinquent accounts and improve recovery results.
• Coordinate with internal teams to address billing questions, reconcile discrepancies, and support timely payments.
• Maintain accurate documentation of collection activity, account updates, and customer communications.
• Monitor consumer and commercial accounts to prioritize follow-up efforts based on risk and aging status.
• Escalate unresolved or high-risk accounts when additional review or intervention is required.
